‘The Climbs’ is a series of 11 posters celebrating some of the iconic cycling routes in Europe. Each poster has been given a stylised graphic treatment and you can personalise your print with recordings of your own individual ascent including the name, date and statistical data. It may be that you'll simply want to record a group ride - but that's no problem, just send us the details and we'll pop it on your poster. The posters can also be purchased simply as a blank poster without any specific records.
The creative styling is all about capturing the characteristic of the mountain or climb but bringing a more abstract and colourful approach than a more basic map or silhouette – quite apart from the fact that several climbs are managed via different routes or with Box Hill, for example, are part of an overall route such as the Ride 100 course.
Whilst the designs take on an abstract/modernist approach, elements such as the weather station at Ventoux, and the memorial at the Col d’Izoard have been included. The objective is to produce a poster attractive enough in it’s own right to put on the wall, irrespective of the objective to record a personalised climb.
The personalisation is a nice way of bringing a great ride to life and a record of achievement. Of course, there are many climbs out there and The Northern Line are planning a second set in the near future, but individual climbs can be commissioned and produced if they are not on the current list.
Details of size, frame options and costings can be found on each individual poster listing on our website.
The 11 climbs are:-
Alpe d'Huez, Box Hill, Croix de Fer, Fleet Moss, Galibier, Hardknott Pass,Col d'Izoard, De Koppenberg, Stelvio, Tourmalet and Ventoux.
